ICC team visits Wankhede stadium

Last Updated 24 January 2011, 16:32 IST

“All 13 venues are coming up well. The concerns are more in the media. The facilities were shown to the ICC team. They will convey the official version later,” World Cup tournament director, Prof Ratnakar
Shetty, told reporters after an hour-long inspection on Monday.

Last week, Shetty, who is also the treasurer of the Mumbai Cricket Association, had allayed fears of further delay in the completion of renovation work at the stadium saying that only the finishing work was pending.

Apart from the April 2 final, the stadium is slated to host two more matches during the tournament — New Zealand v/s Canada (March 13) and New Zealand v/s Sri Lanka (March 18).
