Cong stages protest

Addressing the protestors, former Mayor Ashraf said the MCC is following anti-people’s policy by hiking the SAS. “The master plan for Mangalore city is against the interest of the common man,” he added.

MLA U T Khader said the local bodies should respond to the problems of the citizens rather than aggravating the problems. Owing to the CDP, a poor man owning five cents land is not in a position to own a house.Congress Spokesperson M G Hegde alleged that CDP was prepared to sell the of  flats constructed by the Minister Krishna Palemar.The protestors urged the MCC to scrap SAS.

Later, in the MCC meeting the agenda on increasing the SAS was postponed citing technical reason.
