The bail plea was rejected after the prosecution counsel submitted that there were strong evidences, including telephonic conversations, corroborating Sridhar’s association with gangsters Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel. Sridhar received Rs 25 lakh from one Altaf to plot terror acts in the State by engaging naxals.

Financed by ISI

The plan was financed by Pakistan’s ISI through Dawood and Shakeel, who in turn roped in Altaf, the counsel for the prosecution stated.

The prosecution further submitted that Sridhar had been arrested in the past for supplying weapons and money to naxals. He was allegedly planning to take some Maoists from Karnataka to Dubai.

Reallocation of tender

The High Court has directed Bescom to reallocate the tender for supply of static energy meters.
Landif GYR Limited had challenged the award of tender to HPL Socomec Private Limited before Tender Appellate Authority headed by Principal Secretary, Department of Energy.

The Authority rejected the plea, and Landiff challenged the same before the High Court contending that Socomec was not technically qualified for the tender.

Justice Abdul Nazeer held that the respondent (Socomec) was not technically qualified to supply the meters and directed Bescom to consider the bid of the petitioner company.

The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (Bescom) had called for tenders to procure supply of meters LT-3 phase CT operated GTV meters and LT single phase 530 amps static energy meters.
