Nitish Kumar condoles death of M P Prakash

Seventy one-year-old Prakash died at a private hospital in Bangalore after a prolonged battle with cancer.Karnataka JD(U) president Nad Gowda, who was present at a party meeting here, informed Kumar about the leader's death.

In his condolence message, Kumar described his death as "irreparable loss to the socialist movement" and said he would remain a source of inspiration for the younger generation in politics.

"Because of his people-oriented commitment and devotion in public life, he earned fame and popularity not only in Karnataka but also elsewhere," he noted.

Prakash was a writer, theater personality and social activist, besides being a prominent face of Karnataka politics since the 1980s and had held several responsibilities all through his political career, Kumar recalled.
