UPA will come to power, says Siddaramaiah

Congress leader Siddaramaiah said the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) would again come to power at the Centre with the support of the Left parties.

Talking to reporters while he was participating in a private programme here on Thursday, he said AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi’s discussion with the Left parties has been a welcome development.

“What is wrong is discussing the government formation issue with the Left?” he questioned, adding that Manmohan Singh government is inevitable for the country in the view of national security and economic development.

He said the Congress would secure more seats than the BJP in the State, and added that some of the party leaders from here would get Cabinet berths also.

Congress leaders K M Kemparaj, Srinivas, Rajappa, Jatanlal Dagar and others were present on the occasion.
