"It is only through talks across the table that peace can be brought back and any real sense of economic, social and political development can come about in the region", Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Tako Dabi said in a statement.
Dabi appreciated the ULFA pro-peace talk group's decision to hold talks with Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Home Secretary G K Pillai. The continuity of the peace talks was welcomed as the people of the region are "fed up of extortion, kidnapping, killings and bandh calls."
Dabi said he had on behalf of the state government time and again endorsed peace talks with all underground outfits in the northeast, particularly ULFA, NDFB and NSCN factions.
