<p>Speaking to presspersons on the sidelines of cashew mela 2011 organised by the Horticulture University (Bagalkot), Horticulture Research Station (Ullal), DK district Jilla Krishika Samaja, Agriculture University at Horticulture Research Station at Ullal on Saturday, he said that the government has also been urged to provide three months, six months and one year course to the rural folks in agriculture in all the 16 agriculture colleges and research stations. There will be no educational qualification prescribed for this course. <br /><br />Even a person who has studied upto fourth standard can get into this course. All the agriculture colleges will also be asked to provide one year certificate course and two year diploma course in agriculture. The students who undergo the course will be given stipend by the government. <br /><br />The courses will aim at making agriculture a sustainable activity, he added. <br />Dr Dandin said the budget will also focus on bringing women to the mainstream of the society in agriculture. Recommendations have also been made to protect the natural resources in the State, especially water, soil and the land.</p>
