<p>The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) will announce the Indian squad on Sunday in the midst of reports that Bindra and Narang might be ignored, owing to their non-participation in the 34th National Games -- which also serves as a selection trial -- underway here. “The moving average scores of Bindra and Narang are much higher than some of the participants here,” said Thomas. “Whenever a squad is picked, their scores are taken into account and considering their scores are high, I don’t see any reason in them being dropped. <br /><br />“Moreover, Bindra has sought permission for training in Germany while Narang is waiting for his new pistol. They have valid reasons and have explained it to the federation.”<br />NRAI Secretary Rajiv Bhatia also accorded Thomas’ view in a different way. “The participation of shooters is completely at the hands of respective State associations. It is up to them to decide who they want to send,” Rajiv said.</p>
