Six states failed to win a gold at National Games

Gujarat might be on the top of the development index of the country, but they performed miserably in sports, winning just three silver and four bronze medals while Arunanchal Pradesh won one silver and 10 bronze.

Bihar, from which Jharkhand was carved out in 2000, also did not perform very well. They won a total 12 medals, including just one gold.

The largest state of the country in terms of population, Uttar Pradesh, won 70 medals, including 20 gold. They were on the 10th position in the overall medals tally.

Hosts Jharkhand won 96 medals, including 33 gold, and finished at fifth.Services were on top of the medals tally with 162 medals, which included 70 gold. They were followed by Manipur and Haryana, which won 48 and 42 gold medals, respectively.The 34th National Games began Feb 12 and concluded Saturday.
