'Laws should be based on ethical values in society'

He was speaking after being felicitated at the National Triple Advocacy Moot Court Competition organised by SDM Law College and Centre for Post-Graduate Studies in Law at the College auditorium on Saturday. He was felicitated for being the first law graduate from the SDM College to be elected as the Vice Chairman of Karnataka State Bar Council.

“The Bar Council of India needs best litigation advocates at present,” he said.   He emphasised on the constitution of laws which are of Indian origin and are based on the ethical values of society.  Capt Ganesh Karnik, MLC stressed on the need for enlightened citizenship for the effective implementation of clause mentioned in the
Constitution.

He said: “Enlightened citizenship leads to the effective implementation of the Constitution, which in turn promotes enlightened leadership. Enlightened leaders will have professionalism and accountability.”  Excise Commissioner Aravind Jannu also spoke.

Karnataka Additional Advocate General K M Nataraj presided over the function.
