Stating that such an ‘unauthorised visit’ to the State would affect the relationship between the two states, Water Resource Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the State has decided to complain to the Centre and Krishna Tribunal - 2 in this regard.

The minister, while making a statement during the zero hour in the Legislative Council on Thursday, said the delegation comprising 12 MLAs of the Telugu Desam Party, a former MP and crew of Andhra Pradesh-based TV news channel visited Kavalur barrage, Yadgiri barrage and Sannathi barrage in Yadgiri taluk on Wednesday. Such a visit to the State was politically motivated, and in violation of the Krishna Tribunal’s verdict.

The Government had taken up projects to make use of water awarded by the Krishna Tribunal -1. But, he alleged that Andhra Pradesh had been using more than 800 tmc of water awarded by the tribunal in 2005-06 and 2006-07. He said he would represent its protest against the visit by the delegation to Andhra Pradesh government.
