Counterfeit merchandise seized

A unit deployed by Assistant Commissioner of Cubbon Park police station Devaraju and a team of ICC officials conducted the operation in which hundreds of counterfeit tee-shirts were seized. The authorities chased away several others who were trying to sell illegal merchandise.

The ICC has been particularly careful about protecting the interests of its commercial partners, who have ploughed in a lot of money into the game.

Ambush marketing is high on the world body’s list of priorities, and apart from preventing the sale of counterfeit merchandise, Sunday’s operation also led to the confiscation and destruction of numerous materials aimed at Ambush marketing.
