Madonna stage collapse kills two workers

Madonna "devastated" by the news has cancelled the show which was to be held on Sunday, reported Guardian online.

The two victims killed in the accident, which took place in the Stade Velodrome auditorium, were of British and French nationality.

The 53-year-old Frenchman, Charles Criscenzo, was killed instantly when the structure collapsed during the set-up of the stage while Charles Prow, 32, who was admitted in intensive care with serious injuries died overnight.

The popstar was in Udine, Italy at the time of incident and released a statement expressing her grief.

"My prayers go out to those who were injured and their families along with my deepest sympathy to all those affected by this heartbreaking news," the singer said in a statement.
