CM to launch development works worth ` 41 cr in Somwarpet

In the meeting held at the ITI College at Aluru Siddapura, Ranjan said that the Chief Minister will land at the Siddapura Government School premises in a helicopter at 11 am and later lay the foundation for various development work. “Another meeting of all department officials should be convened in the presence of the district nodal officer on March 25 to discuss about the smooth conduct of the programme,” Ranjan directed. He handed over the responsibility of holding the programme to Assistant Commissioner Dr M R Ravi and further directed that various sub committees involving villagers should be formed in connection with the programme.

Deputy Commissioner Ashwathanarayana Gowda directed officials of all departments to be prepared with all statistics with regard to the development work. “Officials should provide all necessary information on development work to be taken up till March 31 compulsorily,” he directed.

‘Rs 41 cr for development’

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will launch development work worth Rs 41 crore to be taken up at various places in Aluru Siddapura, Ranjan said.

The new building of the Aluru Siddapura Government PU College built at a cost of Rs 65 lakh will be inaugurated by the CM and later he will open the ITI building, which was constructed at a cost of Rs two crore. Foundation will be laid for the construction of the first floor of the building, which is to be taken up at an estimated cost of Rs three crore.

Foundation will also be laid for the staff quarters building, which will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs one crore, he said and added that the new building of the Morarji Desai Hostel for Backward class students built at a cost of Rs four crore will be inaugurated by the CM.

The CM will also inaugurate various work including development of tanks, roads, bridges and canals. Kannada and Culture Department Minister Govinda Karajola, Primary and High School Education Minister Vishveshwara Hegade Kageri, Minister for Labour Bachegowda, Minister for Forest Vijayashankar, Speaker K G Bopaiah, MP Vishwanath, MLCs M C Nanaiah and T John will be the guests, he said.

Visit to farmer’s house

Yeddyurappa will visit the house of organic farmer Manjunatha Rai at Kodagarahalli near Suntikoppa. After having lunch, the CM will participate in the interaction with farmers, Ranjan said adding that farmers in the district can submit their complaints and grievances at the programme.
