The Bible defines Faith as "being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see," (Heb. 11:1). The Lord says, "I am the God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for me?" (Jeremiah 32:27). When George Mueller planned to build orphanages in Bristol, England, he could not see anything more than two shillings in his pocket.

His friends mocked and laughed at him, but his Faith in the providence of God was so strong that he made his wants known only to God. He received over seven million dollars from sources he never knew, for the construction and maintenance of these orphanages.

George Mueller was so convinced about the power of God that he wrote: "Faith does not operate in the realm of the possible. When Mother Teresa left the Loretto Convent on a different Mission, she carried only a bucket, a pair of footwear and a saree. Yet God multiplied His blessings upon her because she placed all her trust in His providence.

There is no glory for God in that which is humanly possible. Faith begins where man's power ends."

When evangelist Hudson Taylor was journeying on a ship to mainland China, there was a storm at sea and the captain and sailors were scared about the situation. Those were the days, when most seafarers never trusted much in God, but only on their own strengths. Yet, some suggested that the Holy man be asked to pray for safety.  The Captain asked Hudson Taylor to pray. Hudson Taylor went down into the stern locked the door and fell on his knees before God. After some time, he heard a knock on his door. It was the Captain. The Captain said "Pastor, you can stop praying now. We have more wind than we need now, we are already safely reaching the shore, thank you for praying".

We all go through life's storms. Most of these storms are not seen. They are deep within our minds and hearts and can be very discomforting. But give them all to Jesus. As he calmed the storm at sea with the words "Be still", he wishes to calm the storms in your life. It requires a great deal of faith to ask God to calm your storms.

A person of Faith who sees a big storm before him or her, will say "Oh storm, look, I have a Big God before me". But a person who does not have faith will say "Oh God, I have a Big storm before me!"

We must remember that God delights in impossibilities. Give your impossible situations to Him.

When you cannot stand the problems of life, try kneeling.
