Palike recovers land worth Rs 10 cr from temple

It is said that a land measuring 135x105 sqft adjacent to the temple belonged to the BBMP as it was transferred from the then CITB to it.

But the transfer of land was never completed as the Trust disputed the title deed challenging that the ‘khatha’ was in their name.

Presenting its case, the BBMP stated that the said Trust had ‘illegally’ obtained the khatha and ‘fraudulently’ got the taxes assessed for the property.

The prolonged legal battle which ended in the High Court was dismissed with the directions given to the plaintiff to go back to the trial court for seeking relief. It also asked the BBMP not to transfer the title deed to anyone.

The trial court dismissed the case on March 10 and favoured the Palike, asking it to take control of the land.
