Road works worth Rs 20 crore undertaken in Shidlaghatta taluk

He was speaking to mediapersons after reviewing the works on the State highway connecting H cross in Shidlaghatta with Devanahalli in Bangalore Rural via Vijayapura in Shidlaghatta on Sunday.

The works on most of the roads in the taluk has already been started with funds allocated from Central Road Fund, Muniyappa said.

The works on the 16 km stretch from H cross to Vijayapura is being completed at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore, he added.

The works on the road connecting Kondenahalli via Melur and Muthuru cross and the road connecting Melur, Kambadahalli, Appegowdanahalli, Keshavapura and Hosahalli needs to be completed, he said.

The 1km stretch near Gadiminchenahalli where there are lot of trees is being developed with lot of attention has constant water logging had damaged the newly built roads, Muniyappa added.

The 12.5 km stretch from K Muttukadahalli, Kannamangala, Chemangala via Attiganahalli to Heraballa will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3.5 crore, he added.

The works on all the projects have begun, expressed Muniyappa who said that the works would be completed in a matter of few days.

The officials from the National Highway Authority of India are supervising the works, noted Muniyappa who added that contractors have been directed to maintain the quality of the road.

Briefing mediapersons on various development works in around Shidlaghatta town, Muniyappa said that works on the Bus Stand road which was causing lot of trouble was being completed at a fast pace. The road had been widened from Handiganal to B Venkatarayappa Factory, expressed Muniyappa who said that road needed to be asphalted.

The widening and tarring of the road between B Venkatarayappa Factory and Pump House on Chintamani road at a cost of Rs 87 lakh will commence shortly. Further, the relaying of the road between bypass road and Rajiv Gandhi Ashraya layout will commence shortly.

TP President Saraswathamma Tamanna, Vice-President Hemavatamma, ZP former President V Subramani, KOMUL former director K Gudiyappa, leader L Madhu and others were present on the occasion.
