A student of Bethany High School, the 12-year-old Reshma showed incredible maturity in shot selection and execution. Uttara struggled to find her footing right through the match and threw away many openings in frustration.

Reshma made a great start to her title campaign when she scored seven straight points in the first game but Uttara never really gave her the chance to break away until midway through the game. Uttara played intelligently to make sure the game was in the balance at 13-13 but Reshma stepped on the pedal and grabbed the game.

The second game too was a see-saw affair. Uttara chose to exploit Reshma’s weakness near the net, and though Reshma did find means of countering that threat, she couldn’t prevent her more experienced rival from evening the match at a game apiece. Reshma blazed into a eleven-point lead in the decider, but Uttara fought back in stirring fashion to reduce the deficit to 11-14. Composed for the most part, Uttara suddenly lost her cool and resultantly gifted a number of easy points to hand Reshma the match and the title.
In the under-10 final, top seed Ashwini Bhat registered a convincing  21-5, 21-12 win over second seed Mithula UK.
