They're doing their mite for roots

To realise the plans, they have formed Sri Gurumalleshwara Seva Samithi.

Addressing media here on Friday, Samithi president Dr D S Guru, serving as reader at the PG Department of Computer Science, University of Mysore said they have decided to conduct special training for the youths, who could derive inspiration from the educated, who have migrated to other parts.

About 300 such achievers having their roots in the village and settled across State and also abroad will be converging on that day.

To enable the elderly persons in the village, a health check up camp and several other initiatives have been planned.

Suttur Seer Shivarathri Deshikendra will inaugurate the Samithi on March 27 at 10.30 am.  Devanur Mutt Seer Sri Mahantha, Mallanamoole Mutt Seer Channabasava will grace the occasion.

Legal cell

That apart a free legal cell and mass marriage bureau will be opened by Small Affairs Court Judge Sadashiva Sultanpuri.

The PhD holders from the village- Dr D S Guru, Dr M S Manjunath and Dr P Shadakshara Swamy will be honoured, followed by ‘Rajyotsava’ awardee Prof Maleyur Guruswamy, ZP member K P Siddaveerappa and TP member S Neelamma Shivappadevaru.

A good old Ganapathi temple of the village that has been restored will also be dedicated.
Samithi secretary D S Sadashivamurthy, organising secretary B Niranjanamurthy, treasurer K S Raveesh Murthy were present.
