'Overhead tank to supply water soon'

 
Addressing reporters on Tuesday, he said that strict action will be taken against the engineers if the quality of the work is not maintained and he would personally inspect various works by visiting places every morning. He would further visit all the wards to get a picture of drinking water problems persisting in the wards and additional transformers will be installed to ensure efficient water supply.

He said that he would take steps to reduce usage of plastic in the city and accordingly the dormitories (Chathra) in the city have been urged not to use plastic glasses and plates.

Further action will be taken against the shopkeepers who use plastic more than the permissible limit.

 “A sum of Rs 2.86 crore has been released to Minor Irrigation Department for development of Hirekolale lake. The tender procedure will be completed before rainy season and encroachment will be cleared off to put up bund,” he said.

He informed that Rs 535 lakh has been sanctioned under SFC grant, Rs 4 lakh of which will be released every month.
