Last Updated 09 April 2011, 19:14 IST

The disgruntled legislators led by State party president K S Eshwarappa and BJP National General Secretary Ananth Kumar had complained against Yeddyurappa to the party central leadership last month. However, the party top brass had bought time by advising them to wait till the completion of the bypolls. The high command had cautioned the rebels to ensure that the party did not suffer any setbacks in the bypolls due to the internal crisis.

Sources in the rebel camp said they had put a united show in the run-up to the bypolls as promised to the central leadership. The time has now come for us to be heard, a MLA closely associated with the dissidents said.

There has been some set back to the dissidents in their plan of action with the Karnataka High Court staying an order of a local court which had taken cognisance of offences against Yeddyurappa, his family members on a private complaint filed against them under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

With the bypolls complete, the disgruntled legislators are keen that the party high command take up their grievances.

Sensing that the fissures in the party are likely to come out in the open, the party central leadership is likely to depute senior leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy to Bangalore next week on a troubleshooting mission.

The disgruntled legislators have already compiled substainial documentation to validate their complaints of corruption against Yeddyurappa. They have documented various instances wherein Yeddyurappa had allegedly ignored seniors in the party and taken unilateral decisions.

They have also explained their stand to the central leadership that the image of the party as well as the government had been sullied owing to the alleged involvement of Yeddyurappa in scams.
