Trekking camp held

Green Army, the environment cell of Christ University, had organised a trekking-cum-nature camp at Siddara Bette in Madhugiri Taluk of Tumkur district recently.

The main objective of the camp was to improve awareness and understanding environmental issues with a view to promote conservation and wise use of nature and natural resources.

Thirty-one students, accompanied by Dr Antoney P U, Head, Department of Zoology, Christ University and co-ordinator of Green Army, undertook bio-diversity surveys in the region.

A special training session on survival skills and nature trail was conducted. The students identified rare species of reptiles, tadpoles and snails of high altitude. An eco-therapy session was also arranged as part of the camp.
