Guruprasad, who is the Director General of Police of Home Guards and Fire Services, on Tuesday hosted the details of the houses he owns on facebook account -
dgphgffkarnataka.
He owns two houses in Bangalore. His 2,100 sqft house in JP Nagar was built in 1983 on a BDA site. For the construction of the house, he had raised a loan from the government and Metropolitan Co-operative Housing Society. The house has been rented out since 1983.
The second house in Malleswaram West, where he resides, is 3,000 sqft. This, he said, is his ancestral home. The house became his property after the demise of his father D V Murthy in 2005. He said he has been residing in this house since childhood.
Probably, Guruprasad is the first IPS officer in Karnataka to make such details available on a public domain though it is not mandatory for All India service officers to do so.
