According to Mergermarket study, 57 M&A deals totalling US$18.3 bilion were recorded in the first quarter of calender year, representing a 270.6 per cent increase in value compared to year-ago period. The number of deals, however, declined by nine.
Of the total 57 deals that took place this quarter, 35 were inbound. The total value of inbound deals was US$16.9 billion. Of the five biggest deals, four were inbound and one outbound.
