RSS told to build ashrams for poor

Sangha for the rich, Bajrang dal for poor: JD(S) leader

Addressing a protest staged by the district JD (S) unit to oppose the recent incidents that are tarnishing the image of Catholic organisations, in front of the DC’s office on Monday, he said that the Bajrang Dal members led by Jagadish Shenava are disturbing communal harmony for their own benefit.

“As BJP leader Ananath Kumar became Union Minister because of his involvement in Idgah agitation, four of the MLAs got ministerial birth because of Babaudangiri issue and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel emerged as a political leader following his alleged involvement in Sullia, now Jagadish Shenava is trying his luck by dividing the gap between Hindus and Christians in the coastal region”, he criticised.

Meanwhile he alleged that the RSS has assets more than Rs 100 crore in Mangalore alone. It would be good for the RSS and the other right wing leaders to build orphanages and Ashramas for the poor, rather than building marriage halls and other such profitable institutions.

“The first priority and need of the poor is food and comfortable life. Religion comes next,” he said.

Criticising the BJP and the RSS leaders for misusing the youth from poor families by involving them in Bajrang Dal activities, he asked as to why Dr V S Acharya or any other high profile BJP leaders have not permitted their children to join Bajrang Dal.

“If the RSS and the BJP are for men from rich families, Bajrang Dal is for the youth from lower class with poor family background. Why do you misuse the innocence of these  youth for your political benefit?” he questioned.

He challenged the RSS to field Jagadish Shenava in the MLA elections and make Dr V S Acharya the State Secretary of Bajrang Dal.
