Channapatna police arrested Anusha's uncle Raghavendra on Sunday afternoon and launched a search for others wanted in connection with the incident.

Ramanagar SP Bisanalli directed his subordinates to conduct an investigation and arrest those behind the blinding incident on an order from DG&IGP (Incharge) S T Ramesh. The DG acted as per Home Minister R Ashoka's instructions, said sources in the police department.
Speaking to reporters in Bangalore, Anusha rejected Raghu's claims that they were in love as “totally” false. "His claims that my relatives assaulted him and blinded him are baseless. It's a story cooked up by Raghu," she claimed.

She said Raghu stalked her constantly when she was in college. She never spoke to him though he made all efforts to speak to her. Anusha's parents prevented her from going to college when she informed them about Raghu's activities. She did not see him after she stopped going to the college, she added.

She also denied Raghu's claims that she got married to him in Dharmasthala. “Let him show any proof for wedding me,” she challenged. She also claimed that she never invited him to her wedding.

Raghu underwent a surgery at Narayan Nethralaya on Saturday. Doctors treating him said he might not get back his eyesight fully. However, his left eye might regain around 15 per cent sight. His retina and cornea were completely damaged.
