Sukantha Nagar Vidhya Niketan (Kolkata), who crushed Calicut’s St Joseph’s BHH School 6-0, advanced to Saturday’s title clash after registering their fourth win in as many matches at the Bala Gangadharanatha Swamy International Residential School ground.

The Kolkatan team tops the table with 12 points while Government Sports School are second on seven. Don Bosco are placed third at six points with a match in hand.
In a crucial match where a win was important for both Government Sports School and Don Bosco, it was the home side that took early control and hardly showed any let-up in intensity. Striker Santhosh Kumar slotted the first of his two goals in the 15th minute before Mani Maran R made it 2-0 in the 29th minute.

Santhosh fired home the third one six minutes later while Maran completed his brace with a fine effort in the 40th minute. Jeevan then wrapped up a brilliant day with a solo effort in the 47th minute.

Nehal Ahmed gave Sukantha the start they were looking for in the 20th minute with a goal. Jayanto Mondal added another goal to Sukantha’s tally in the 32nd minute but it was Bikash Harijan’s (36th, 39th, 45th) three quick goals that really took the game away from St Joseph’s. Mondal scored another goal in the 48th minute to finish with a brace.

In the only low-scoring match of the day, CRPF, Rohini registered a 2-0 win over Infant Jesus High School, Goa. Both the goals for CRPF came from Mukesh Kumar (35th, 42nd).
