Food poisoning: One dies, four hospitalised

Taluk administration has taken all preventive measures, says MLA

According to delayed reports reaching here,  four members of the same family are being treated at the Crawford Hospital in the town.

Biligamma, her husband Eraiah and three others had been to Shirangala village in Somwarpet taluk following death of his relative. They took ill due to alleged food poisoning. Subsequently, Biligamma was treated at Kodlipet and Yasalur Hospitals and then she was shifted to a private hospital in Hassan where she died on Tuesday.

Doctors attending on four others said they are out of danger. Meanwhile, MLA H K Kumaraswamy visited the hospital and enquired the health of the family members.

He told reporters that the taluk administration has taken serious note of the case and three nurses are camping in the town to distribute medicines to the needy to prevent any eventuality.
