The Wilson Garden police said Parvathi (34) hailed from Oderalli. Her husband Srinivas was hacked to death four days ago by unidentified persons in Kumaraswamy police station limits. During the investigation, a suspect reportedly said he had murdered Srinivas at the behest of Parvathi and the police had taken her into custody for interrogation.

Police completed the first round of interrogation around 8.30 on Saturday and decided to subject her for a detailed interrogation on Sunday, and had kept her at Rajya Mahila Nilaya.
Parvathi went inside a bathroom around 5.30 am and locked herself up and hanged herself from a window, using her saree. Others in the hostel grew suspicious as the bathroom was locked for more than three hours. They informed the Nilaya superintendent, following which the door was broken open.

There was no death note. It is suspected that she might have taken the extreme step fearing police interrogation and her reputation being tarnished.
