She will lock horns with the slain legislator’s wife Kiran Keshri, who, in all probability, will be fielded by the saffron party to cash in on the sympathy wave.

Principal of a girls’ school, Rupam had stabbed the  MLA to death in Purnia on January 3, this year.

She had charged the legislator with sexually exploiting her for years. After the murder, she is languishing in jail, even as the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) probe is on.

Sources close to Rupam’s family said  the charge sheet filed by the CBI showed that she had been booked under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code, which is culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

“This shows she is innocent. She should go to the people’s court and seek justice,” said one of her close relatives, refusing to be identified.
