One such case is that of actor Kartik who bagged the role of Rajat in Pyaar Ka Punchnama (PKP).

Produced by Wide Frame Pictures, PKP introduces six newcomers who play the lead in the film.

Director Luv Ranjan and producer Abhishek Pathak were sure of launching fresh faces in this youth-centric romantic comedy film.

It is said that the director-producer duo were clear that they didn’t want the typical chocolate boy look for the character of Rajat.

After auditions that went on for days together, Abhishek and Luv Ranjan started browsing Facebook in order to come across someone who matched the profile they had in mind. That is when they discovered Kartik. “There was no reason for me not to say yes to Kartik,” admits Abhishek, “I was all for him and from this point on his grooming started.”

The duo also stumbled upon Ishita, one of the heroines of the film in a similar manner. Apparently, the debutante, who bagged the role of Charu in the film, had no intentions of acting in films until PKP came along.

The truth behind her discovery is that she never actually came to audition for the film but was in fact, just visiting the city along with a friend who wanted to try for the movie. Director Luv Ranjan and producer Abhishek Pathak were close to giving up when they came across Ishita to play the character of Charu in the film, and instantly wanted to give her a shot.

The film is a cynical comedy on new age love and romance. It deals with the problems that three boys face with their highly demanding girlfriends. PKP will hit the theatres on May 20.
