He stated that, Muniyappa, in spite of being in the Congress party, has been involved in creating differences among the party members.

He was addressing a press meet after honouring C B Udayshankar and T B Jayalakshmi who were elected as the President and Vice-President of Kolar Taluk Panchayat.

Taking serious exception to Muniyappa’s alleged anti-party activities, Srinivasa Gowda said that since 2008, he has been involved in such activities. Since then, he has supported candidates contesting for Assembly elections from BJP, JD (S), RPI and others, from parties other than the Congress. He was also behind the success of an independent candidate in Kolar, he added.

During the Taluk Panchayat elections, he played spoilsport without even contacting Block Congress president Puttaswamachari. There was no need to take the support of JD (S) when there was support from 20 members of Congress, he opined.

Terming Muniyappa’s politics as inferior, Srinivasa Gowda said that he has also complained to the Congress high command regarding his anti-party activities. He demanded the high command to take serious action against Muniyappa for hindering the growth of the Congress party in Kolar.

KOMUL director Rame Gowda, leaders Muninarayanappa, Puttaswamachar, Somanna, Venkatarama Reddy  and others were also present at the press meet.
