AHF Secretary-General, P Alagendra said the continental federation's council meeting today confirmed the dates of the event, which will be played during September 3-11 in Ordos, located in northern China.

He said the men's event will involve the top six nations of the Guangzhou Asian Games, and the women's event will see the top four from the Asian Games seven months ago.

India will feature in both the men and women's competitions as they were bronze medallists in the men's event and the women's team finished fourth.

The Asian Champions Trophy will be played on the same format as the Champions Trophy, involving round-robin league among all teams followed by play-offs for final positions.
