Man kills wife just days after marriage

Roopa Reddy alias Hema Reddy (27) was married to Bharat (29) on May 6 and the couple took up a rented accommodation on 6th Cross, Muninanjappa Layout, B Channasandra in Banaswadi.

According to police, Bharath is employed at Sasken Networks, Domlur and did not attend office since May 10. The crime came to light when Bharat's colleagues went to his house and saw Roopa lying dead in one of the rooms. Roopa, a BBM graduate, is the only daughter of a retired private firm employee.

Sources said, the couple got married at a temple in Banaswadi on May 6. For Roopa, this was a second marriage, after a divorce from her first marriage. She was into event management.

The couple was staying on the ground floor, while the owner lived on the top floor. They had moved into the house on May 6. Roopa was last seen on May 10, when she walked up to the terrace to collect clothes. A neighbour, who saw her around 11 pm, told cops that she hardly spoke to anyone as she was new to the locality.
