Man drowns, 3 others rescued

The deceased has been identified as Noorulla (45), a native of Kushalnagar. A family with 15 members had come to Ullal Dargha on Sunday. Later, they visited sea shore at Mogaveerapattana. Noorulla, his wife Majeeda Banu, kids Fathima and Suhana were swimming when a huge wave washed them away.

When the family members raised alarm, Shivaji Jeeva Rakshaka members swung into action and were successful is saving three lives. Shivaji Jeeva Rakshaka members Mohan Kotian, Ravi Kanchan, Sharath Karkera, Uday Bangera, Bharath Bangera, Santhosh Kotian, Rahul Kanchan, Akshay Bangera, Ranjith, Kishor Puthran saved the lives. A case has been registered.

Rider killed

A two-wheeler rider was killed when a KSRTC bus rammed against the two-wheeler in which he was riding at Sanoor in Karkala on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Lakshmikanth Adhikari (49), a native of Daregudde. A case has been registered.

2 killed in mishap

Two youths died and another youth sustained serious injuries when they accidentally fell down from a moving bus at Hosmaru in Karkala on Saturday late night.

According to police, the deceased have been identified as Vasanth (17) and Rohan (17) and the injured is Sudesh (13). The trio were standing near the foot board of the bus. Owing to the rash and negligent driving, they were thrown out of the bus. The bus was bound to Hosmaru from Naravi. Sudesh is a student of Naravi school.

Boy missing

A 16-year-old boy Viju from Dharmasthala has been missing since May 12.
According to police, he had told home that he would go to school to check his SSLC results. But he did not return. In fact, he had called the family members from Mysore and had said that he has passed in the exam. A case has been registered.
