'Ovation-2011' ends on a high note

At the closing ceremony of the four-day event, the efforts of volunteers was appreciated by Toastmasters. Also the event witnessed the oath-taking ceremony of newly-elected office-bearers for various districts. Deccan Herald is the media partner for the event.

‘Ovation-2011’ was arranged due to the efforts of Conference Chairperson Kumaran Pethi and Co-Chairperson T K Ramesh.

The Semi-Annual Conference of District 41 - ‘Resonante 2011’ - would be held in Pune on November 12 and 13, while the Semi-Annual Conference of District 82 - ‘Reverberation 2011’ - is likely to be held on November 26 and 27 in Mangalore.

Winners

Giving the performance of his life, Dananjaya emerged as the International Speech Contest Champion with his captivating talk on topic - ‘The Moon Walk’. As Dananjaya’s name was announced, the crowd erupted in appreciation to give the winner a thunderous applause. Anmol Garg for his speech on ‘Speaker No 7 - Anmol Garg’ and Sadayappan for keeping the audience glued to him for his memorable conversation on ‘Watch Out’ emerged as the first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.

Table Topic contest

For the table topic contest, the topic was ‘Experience is a tough teacher, it gives the test first and the lessons later’. Sandhiya R overcame a spirited challenge from Dirish Mohan, who was placed second, and Vinutha, who secured the third place.
