Eight members of a marriage party were killed when a tree, uprooted by a fierce duststorm, fell on their jeep in Siddhartnagar district.
Six perished in Jaunpur, four in Ambedkarnagar, three in Bhadhoi and one in Kanpur as duststorms hit several areas in the state, officials.
Rains, accompanied by high-velocity winds, lashed Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Bahraich and Sultanpur disrupting normal life.
The showers plummeted mercury providing respite to people from the searing heat in the state where Jhansi sizzled at 46 degrees celsius.
