Addressing the protesters outside Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mangalore on Wednesday, Morcha Secretary Sumana Sharan said that the Governor has sent an anti-democratic report to the President asking her to dissolve the elected government even though the state government has involved itself in implementing various beneficiary schemes like Bhagyalakshmi, Sandhya Suraksha and others successfully.

“The Governor is supporting Congress and misusing his power,” she alleged.
"The decision of the governor is affecting the State Government’s developmental work. Ultimately it is the people who are at loss. The Governor has not understood the judgement passed by the Supreme Court on the speaker dismissing 13 MLAs. He has mistook it as the inefficiency of the speaker and has used it in the report to recommend to the President to dissolve the government," complained Rashtra Parishat Member Asha Jagadish.

She added that it would be fair if the Governor joins Congress and faces BJP in party politics front rather than misusing his power as Governor.

In Udupi

Udupi District BJP staged protest in front of Clock Tower against Governor H R Bhardwaj, who has recommended the dismissal of state government and termed it as an unconstitutional move. Speaking on the occasion MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary strongly condemned the Governor's behaviour. He said that the Governor should be appointed in place of KPCC President Dr G Parameshwar.

“He has absolutely failed to uphold the constitutional values. His only aim is to topple BJP government.”

“Governor is behaving like an opposition party member. State government has introduced many people-friendly programmes and has tried to improve the standard of living of the people in the state. However all these are not noticed by the Governor, who is adamant over dismissing the government,” he added.
