Last Updated 19 May 2011, 11:56 IST

"We are exploring the wi-fi space for wireless speakers and other products. Our team is currently working on that and by the second-half of the year, we should launch it," Creative's Regional Sales Manager (Indian Subcontinent) Ernest Sim Li Ern told PTI.

"This will be our next step in the wireless speakers, after the bluetooth range," he added.

The company today unveiled a new range of ZiiSound Bluetooth speakers that allow music from any smartphone or tablet to be accessed without wires.

The ZiiSound D5x will cost Rs 17,999, while the ZiiSound DSx will be priced at Rs 9,999 and both will be made available in the Indian market from August.

Creative will also launch the ZiiSound D3x by September, and will be priced at Rs 9,999.

"Although the bluetooth connection is restricted to 10 metres, the creative speaker-to-speaker will enable the user to access the music until 30 metres," Creative Business Development Regional Sales Manager Andy Cheng said.

Creative's modular speaker allows separate speakers for different rooms in the house and the user can choose to have a theatre effect or a private listening experience, while watching a movie on the TV, or listening to the music.

The company, which today launched its android-based tablets at prices of Rs 17,999 (7 inch) and Rs 21,999 (for 10 inch), said it will also launch Creative Zen Style M300 music, photo and video player with the bluetooth technology by July.

The 4-GB M300 will be available in white colour and would be priced at Rs 3,499, while the 8 GB one will be available in white, black, yellow and red at Rs 4,999.
