Acting upon a complaint that the girl was forcibly being married off, Deputy Director Vimala along with her staff rushed to Arakeshwara temple in the town in time where the wedding was scheduled.
The officers took an undertaking from the parents of the girl and the groom that they would not attempt to marry off the girl. Many guests who had arrived for the wedding had the food, that was kept ready.
Since they have pledged an undertaking, the police have not registered the case, said the East police.
