State film awards presentation tomorrow

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa will present the award at Koramanagala Indoor Stadium on Saturday.

While Raj Kumar Award is being presented to Padma Bhushan awardee B Saroja Devi, film producer A R Raju and veteran cinematographer R N K Prasad will receive the Vishnuvardhan Award.

Film director K S R Das, will receive the Puttanna Kanagal Award, said Information Department Director Muddu Mohan, while addressing the media on Thursday.

The department which had to endure major embarrassment of announcing the Puttanna Kanagal Award to Das first, and then changing its mind to award it to filmmaker Girish Karnad a few months ago, has requested Das to accept the award.

Muddu Mohan said that Das who had been "pained" by the entire episode has however, agreed to accept the award.
