Continuing with their indefinite strike in front of the deputy commissioner’s office, the gangmen said that more than 400 workers had been removed from the job after serving for more than three years without providing any prior information.
Having staged a silent protest during the first two days, the workers had staged a torchlight rally on Friday. They performed ‘Urulu Seve’ to garner the attention of the officials on the fifth day of their protest.
Starting the ‘Urulu Seve’ from the deputy commissioner’s office, they rolled through B M Road, N R Circle, Bus Stand, Hemavathi Statue, AVK College Road, S P Office and ended the start point. More than 30 gangmen participated in this novel protest.
