<p>Ironically BJP and ABVP are from the same parivar and both behaved like sworn rivals.<br />ABVP activists gheraoed the minister in front of the Aiwan-e-Shahi Guest House, and Assembly speaker Jagadish Shettar, who was travelling in a different car, had a narrow escape. <br /><br />The students, who were protesting the government’s decision to give more seats to private managements questioned the minister as to what he was doing when the government took the ‘anti-student decision.’<br /><br />To this, the minister is said to have made vulgar remarks, much to the shock of those who had gathered at the spot. <br /><br />Following this, the students got agitated. A heated exchange of words ensued. The minister was not ready to give a patient hearing to the students belonging to the frontal organisation of the BJP. <br /><br />The students took the minister to task for his uncivilised behaviour even as the persons accompanying the minister watched the ugly developments mutely.<br /><br />The students were upset over the government’s decision to allocate five per cent more seats to private management for admission to professional courses and also for increasing the fee. <br /><br />They wanted both the speaker and the minister to intervene immediately and prevail upon the government to withdraw the decision highly detrimental to the interests of students and parents.</p>
