JOIN USSachin Ramachandra Mohite, an ITI student, scaled the 24-storey Beary’s Lakeside Habitat apartment near Sahakaranagar to announce his support to the movement.
The apartment residents were scared out of their wits when Mohite scaled the apartment without any safety gear. Within 15 minutes, the ‘spiderman’ reached the top and hoisted the tri-colour.
The securitymen handed him over to Kodigehalli police who let off with a warning.
Mohite said: “I have scaled several buildings in Mumbai and Belgaum. This was my way of expressing my support to the anti-corruption movement.”
At Freedom Park
Bangaloreans expressed their solidarity with Baba Ramdev’s movement at the Freedom Park.
Condemning the Union government for using police to evict Baba Ramdev and his supporters from the Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi, some of them performed bhajans, while a few performed yoga. Youths distributed pamphlets, while volunteers offered juice and biscuits to the elderly.
The organisers had installed LCD screens to beam TV coverage of news pertaining to Ramdev.
The BJP launched a 24-hour dharna in front of the Town Hall on Sunday evening.
