The items will be sold at its three outlets -Lalbagh, Hudson Circle and Banana yard behind Bini mill.

So, what will be on display? “Apart from fruits and vegetables, the customers can buy flowers, plantain leaves, mango leaves, coconut and other puja accessories,” said Krishnappa, general manager, HOPCOMS.

 KMF kiosks

There will also be kiosks of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) to sell sweets, Karnataka Oil Federation and a company called Innova, which will display packaged high quality unpolished pulses.

Although, this facility will end on July 31, the HOPCOMS officials are planning to replicate this three-day model in other festivals too.  “This is only an initiation for the things to come. We are going to extend this even to Gauri Ganesha festival. Usually, during festivals the markets are crowded and the prices for items would increase.

So, the idea is to make it convenient for people to shop for items needed for the festival and at an affordable rate,” said one of the officials.
