The Jnanabharathi police arrested four persons on the charge of murder and seized a truck and borewell pipes.

Mohammad Azgar Pasha, 33, Begur, Mohammad Hussein, 39, Doddabidarikallu, Mohammad Altu, 30, Kengeri and Rehan Pasha, 39, Sira town, allegedly killed Raju, a truck driver from Tamil Nadu.

Raju was driving his truck, laden with casing pipes, towards Hubli on the night of June 14. He stopped the truck near a roadside tea stall on Hiriyur bypass road when the diesel got over.

He wanted to pledge a wheel with the tea stall owner and get money to refill the diesel tank.

The suspects, who were near the tea stall, offered him money. As Pasha and Altaf boarded the truck, Raju told them that he would return the money in Davangere. The two other suspects followed them in a car.

They attacked him with weapons when the truck approached Doddasiddanahalli, burnt the body at Shibi Ghat near Kallambella and fled with the truck and the casing pipes, said the police.
