Land utilisation, irrigation, cultivation methods, etc, which are important aspects of the information and figures on transport and land-holding in the State will help in getting information on social groups, especially scheduled castes/tribes, Muniyappa said and instructed the workers to collect and record facts and figures on the basis of land records.
Agricultural census is carried out in the country once every five years. The first census was undertaken using the agricultural year 1970-71 as the base, he said.
Assistant statistical officers S Prasad, Venkataravanappa and B R Munivenkatappa and deputy tahsildar Srinivasa Setty were present.
