Pollard keen to make it big

However, the Trinidadian was confident that he can make the progress to the next level sooner than later, while winning more matches for the country.

“I really want to perform for the West Indies, and I am trying my level best to give my hundred per cent for the country. I am aware that I have not justified my talent, but I can only work hard and wait for the results. But I am confident that, and I really hope so, that I can make the days count for the West Indies sooner than later,” Pollard said here on Friday ahead of the third one-dayer against India at the Sir Vivian Richards stadium.

Pollard, who impressed many with his power hitting and agile effort on the field during the Indian Premier League, said there’s no pressure on him to perform, considering his reputation as talented cricketer.

“There’s no pressure on me, and I don’t think that’s the case. During the second one-dayer against India, I was looking for some quick runs as when I walked in we were in a really strong position. But unfortunately, that shot didn’t work for me then, as, perhaps, I should have showed a little more patience. Hopefully, my big day is round the corner,” he said.
Pollard asserted that it has always been country first for him than anything else. “Trust me, I very very much want to play for the West Indies and it’s more important for me than anything else,” he said.

Pollard added that the team’s confident of arresting a two-match losing streak. “Like winning, losing is also a habit, and hopefully we can turn the tide in our favour in the next match.”
