"We intend to bring our world class products to the Indian market, which is witnessing a revolution with regard to health, fitness and body building among the youth", said Sven Schade, Managing Director of Weider Germany GmbH.
The company had been on the lookout for distributors in South East Asia and after a detail study of markets, it decided that India would be best suited, given its growing economy, increasing purchasing power and sophistication, he said in a press release here.
"We see a great potential in the Indian market and are scouting for distributors who have a good distribution network among gyms, fitness clubs", he said, adding "We are excited to work hand in hand with distributors in North Karnataka for building this promising new market", Schade said.
Weider is seeking distributors having a large network in gym outlets, health sector, pharmaceutical outlets and retail servicing, the release said.
For now, all products for the Indian market will be made in Germany.
