Speaking to media persons on Saturday, he said the campaign will be flagged off in Siddhapur of Virajpet constituency at 11 am and in Nellihudikeri of Madikeri legislative constituency at 3 pm on the same day. The local leaders will inaugurate the campaign, he said.

Elucidating the reason behind launching the campaign, he said: “The campaign intends to visit 476 poll booths in both the constituencies and listen to the grievances of the local public. Along with it, we have also decided to inform the public about the achievements of the Congress led UPA government. We would like the people to know the bad administration of the BJP government in the State.”

Five blocks have been formed in the district for the campaign purpose. Every block consists of three members. Leaders appointed by the District Congress Unit will lead each of the blocks. The appointed leaders are Suma Vasanth (Madikeri), T John (Napoklu). Chandrakala Prasanna (Virajpet), MP Vishwanath (Ponnampet) and C S Arun Machaiah (Somwarpet), informed Pradeep.

Further he said, three observers have been appointed in each block to observe the process. They include, Chelluvanda Kaverappa, M S Venkatesh and Usman Haji for Virajpet, T P Ramesh, Abdul Rehaman, B S Thammaiah for Napoklu, P K Ponnappa, Vasu Kuttappa, Iqbal Hasan for Ponnampet, S M Changappa, Saritha Poonacha, Sridharan Nair for Madikeri, T M Ayyappa, M S Nanda Kumar and Rajamma Rudraiah for Somwarpet.

Criticising the Nemmadi Kendras, he said the Centres are a bane to the farmers. With several problems like electricity problem and lack of hologram, these centres do not distribute possession certificates to the farmers. The government is not responding to the requests, he alleged.
